About the studio
One developer trying to build things people can enjoy.
SwitchPoint Studio is my personal development space for games, plugins, tools, assets, and whatever I manage to bring across the finish line.
Who am I?
Hi! My name is Joshwa. I'm a regular guy trying to find my calling and start the next chapter of my life. I currently work for a Class I railroad, which keeps my schedule tight and limits the time I get to spend with my family.
As a father of two autistic children, I'm used to challenges, patience, and learning as I go. I've always loved video games, and I've always had a passion to create something others can enjoy.
I bought my first computer in 2020 and was introduced to RPG Maker MZ. Like many people who have used RPG Maker, I have a dozen unfinished games I've worked on, but I keep making more and getting a little further and better each time.
What do I do?
Right now, I've been making plugins for RPG Maker while also learning Godot and other game development tools. I have plenty of game ideas, and I'm hoping to make time to complete a few before it's all said and done.
A lot of the plugins I make started as ideas for my own games. Some are practical systems, some add a more immersive experience, and some just have the potential to help another developer make their game stand out.
My long-term goal is to move away from the railroad and start a career making video games, assets, and tools that I can share with others.
What goes public here?
Only projects that are ready to show. This site is meant to stay clean and honest, so finished releases will get proper pages when they're ready, and early experiments can keep growing behind the scenes.
